Julia Erhart

Julia Erhart is an associate professor and feminist film scholar based at Flinders University where she teaches and researches feminist, LGBTQ, and documentary media, as well as gender equity and the Australian screen industry. Her articles on these subjects have appeared in journals that include Screen, Camera Obscura, Studies in Australasian Cinema, Feminist Media Studies and others. She is the author of two books, Gendering History on Screen: Women Filmmakers and Historical Films (IB Tauris/Bloomsbury, 2018), about feminist innovations in historical genres such as war films, biopics and experimental documentary, and Gillian Armstrong: Popular, Sensual & Ethical Cinema (Edinburgh, 2020).
