Julia Galmiche-Essue
Julia Galmiche-Essue is a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of French at the University of Toronto. Her research, funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada, focuses on the representations of the book in contemporary francophone literatures from sub-Saharan Africa and the Caribbean. Julia is the author of a dozen articles published in international peer-reviewed journals. She has recently co-edited an issue of Arborescences devoted to metatextuality in contemporary francophone literatures. Julia is the 2017 International Council of Francophone Studies Emerging Scholar Prize winner and the 2022 Bibliographical Society of Canada Emerging Scholar Prize winner.
