Dr Julia Lockheart is a senior lecturer and head of contextual practices at Swansea School of Art, UWTSD and associate lecturer in design at Goldsmiths, University of London. She is director of the Writing-PAD Network (http://writing-pad.org) and co-founder and co-editor of the Journal of Writing in Creative Practice (published by Intellect). Julia is an experienced academic with a research and teaching interest in the purposeful use of writing and language in art and design, and currently focuses on the use of collaborative writing as a tool for learning. She holds a Ph.D. in design, an MFA and BA (hons) in fine art and an MA in TESOL. She has specialist teaching qualifications in specific learning difficulties (OCR Cert. SpLD Dyslexia) and English as a foreign language (EFL). Julia is one half of the art science collaboration with Professor Mark Blagrove, DreamsID.com. She has taught, presented and published both nationally and internationally.
