Kirsi Manninen
Kirsi Manninen (MA) is a Helsinki-based scenographer with four decades of experience in costume design. During her career, Kirsi has designed costumes for more than one hundred productions at several Finnish theatres and for numerous TV1 series and films. She is one of the pioneers of teaching digital drawing and its techniques on touch screen in costume design in various educational institutions in Finland and abroad. Currently she is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Art and Media, Aalto University School of Arts, Design and Architecture, Finland. Her area of research is digital character creation in costume design. In 2020, she was awarded the City of Helsinki’s Artist of the Year Award for her achievements as a pioneering costume designer in the performing arts.
