Marta da Costa

Marta da Costa is a lecturer at Manchester Metropolitan University, where she teaches a range of modules in the BA (Hons) Education programme and is a core member of the Education and Social Research Institute (ESRI). Marta’s teaching focuses on global perspectives and issues of social justice in education. She is currently completing her Ph.D. and her research draws on post and decolonial theoretical approaches to explore possibilities for decentring Eurocentrism and promoting pluriversalism in global citizenship education (GCE) research and practice. She is particularly interested in efforts to identify and challenge dominant perspectives to make room for marginalized ones in European education contexts.
