Patricia Fenner
Associate Professor Patricia Fenner was for many years leader of the postgraduate art therapy programme at La Trobe University, Melbourne, Australia. In that setting she advanced the art therapy discipline and created a highly sought-after course of training for students looking for a professional degree where experiential learning, evidence-based knowledge and practice-based learning were valued and embedded. Since recent retirement to an adjunct role, she is engaged in supervision of Ph.D. and other higher degree research students, as well as collaborating with students, academics and colleagues in the healthcare sector on studies where art plays a leading role in the advancement of improved health and well-being. These include the domains of cancer care, post-traumatic growth, mental health recovery and cross-cultural projects in the Asia Pacific.
