Sebastian Castro Niculescu
Sebastian Castro Niculescu is a visual artist, performer, writer and theorist who lives and works between Providence, Rhode Island, and New York City. Castro Niculescu is currently attending Brown University to study Ethnic Studies and Applied Mathematics, and the Rhode Island School of Design to study Sculpture. Castro Niculescu’s critical interests include queer performance/embodiment, trans identity, Latino studies and the Latin American Diaspora, the abject, animalistic, and the cyborgian. Castro Niculescu’s artistic practice includes object-making, lecture-performances and video works that currently use the image of the green-skinned alien as a possible site for queer/racial liberation, among other strange embodiments.
