Seonjeong Yi

Seonjeong Yi worked as an elementary school teacher in South Korea and received her first Master’s degree in Art Education (MEd) focusing on early childhood film education. Her second Master’s in Art Education was completed at Concordia University (MA) in June 2017. The purpose of her project was to develop a workshop programme for the Heeum Museum of Military Sexual Slavery by Japan in South Korea in order to raise awareness about the ‘Comfort Women’ issue as public pedagogy through participatory action research. She was planning to pursue a doctorate at the University of British Columbia at the time of her unexpected passing in the summer of 2017.
