Seth Giddings

Dr Seth Giddings is associate professor of digital culture and design at the Winchester School of Art, University of Southampton, UK. His research interests span popular and experimental playful media and he has published widely on new media theory, video games and play culture. Recent research has centred on ethologies of the design of playful technologies; from mobile games to robots to playground swings. His publications include Gameworlds: Virtual Media and Children’s Everyday Play (Bloomsbury 2014), New Media: A Critical Introduction (with Martin Lister, John Dovey, Iain Grant and Kieran Kelly, Routledge 2009) and he co-edited The New Media & Technocultures Reader with Martin Lister (Routledge 2011).
