Sheldon Lu is professor and department chair of comparative literature at the University of California, Davis. His most recent publications include a special issue of the Journal of Chinese Cinemas, 11:1, on ‘Chinese-Language Ecocinema’ (guest editor, March 2017); co-edited anthology (with Haomin Gong) Essays on Chinese Ecocinema 中国生态电影论集 (Wuhan University Press, 2017); ‘Cosmopolitanism and alternative modernity in twentieth-century China’, Telos, 180 (Fall 2017); and co-author with Karen Thornber, ‘Commentary’, a special issue of Comparative Literature Studies on ‘Ecocriticism in East Asia’, vol. 55, no. 4 (2018).
