Thérèse De Raedt

Thérèse De Raedt is associate professor of French in the Department of World Languages and Cultures at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. Her research has focused on the theme of ‘otherness’ in colonial and postcolonial French and francophone literatures and cultures. She is currently writing a book about the literal and metaphorical significance of beaches in francophone cultures. Reflecting her research interests, her primary teaching fields are the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, the representation of the foreigner, the link between visual and textual cultures, and francophone literatures and cultures.
