Ben Macpherson

Ben Macpherson is a senior lecturer and course leader for BA (Hons) Musical Theatre at the University of Portsmouth, UK. With Konstantinos Thomaidis, he is a founding co-editor of Journal of Interdisciplinary Voice Studies, the Routledge Voice Studies monograph series, and a co-editor of the volume Voice Studies: Critical Approaches to Process, Performance and Experience (Routledge, 2015). His monograph titled Cultural Identity in British Musical Theatre 1890–1939: Knowing One’s Place was published by Palgrave in 2018, and he is currently writing a monograph on musical theatre vocality and the utopian, for Oxford University Press.
