Gülsüm Baydar

Gülsüm Baydar is a professor of architecture at Yaşar University, Turkey. She has taught architectural history and theory at University of California Berkeley, University of California Santa Cruz, MIT, University of Adelaide, Australia, and National University of Singapore. Her interdisciplinary work exploring the boundaries of the discipline of architecture appears in the journals Assemblage, Journal of Architectural Education, Society and Space, Signs, and City. She is co-editor of Postcolonial Space(s) (with Chong Thai Wong, Princeton Architectural Press, 1997) and Negotiating Domesticity (with Hilde Heynen, Routledge, 2005). She is currently working on the entanglements of space and subjectivity from a new materialist perspective.
