Ian Conrich

Ian Conrich is an associate professor in film studies at Stockholm University and honorary professor in cultural and social anthropology at the University of Vienna. Chair of the New Zealand Studies Association since 1997 and member of the Executive for the Pacific History Association, he is the author of Studies in New Zealand Cinema (2009) and Easter Island, Myths, and Popular Culture (2011), co-author of Gothic Dissections in Film and Literature: The Body in Parts (2017), and author, editor or co-editor of a further seventeen books, including New Zealand Filmmakers (2007), Contemporary New Zealand Cinema (2008), The Cinema of New Zealand (in Polish) (2009), Rapa Nui - Easter Island: Cultural and Historical Perspectives (2016) and Imagining Easter Island: Representing Rapa Nui in Comic Books (forthcoming 2023).
