Aims & Scope

The Journal of Arab & Muslim Media Research (JAMMR) is a refereed academic publication dedicated to the study of communication, culture and society in the Arab and Muslim world. Peer Review Policy

All articles undergo initial editorial screening either by the journal's Editorial Team and/or incumbent Guest Editors. Articles then undergo a rigorous, anonymous, peer review by two referees, following the guidance in Intellect's 'Peer review instructions'. Based on this feedback, the Editors will communicate a decision and revision suggestions to authors. To appeal an editorial decision, please contact the main Editor who will consider your case.

When considering articles authored or co-authored by the editor-in-chief or members of the editorial board, we strive for transparency by seeking independent reviews. These can be from the advisory board or other external experts in the field. The long list of advisory board members alongside the list of experts we have from around the world help us in diversifying those whom we approach for peer-reviewing. We also minimize the number of contributions authored or co-authored by the Editor-in-Chief or members of the editorial board. When considering submissions authored by any member of the editorial board, we ensure that all transparency mechanisms are in place.

Ethical Guidelines

The journal follows the principles set out by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Read our Ethical Guidelines for more on the journal's standards.
