Katy Parry

Katy Parry completed her Ph.D., entitled ‘Visually framing the 2003 Iraq invasion in British Press photography’ in 2009. She is a co-author of Pockets of Resistance (2010), with Piers Robinson, Peter Goddard, Craig Murray and Philip Taylor, and has published articles with the same research team. Her single-authored publications include an article on press photography during the Israel-Lebanon conflict, featured in a special visuals edition of Media, War and Conflict (3:1). With a particular interest in visual framing, metaphor and cartoons, her current research with Kay Richardson and John Corner has led to a number of forthcoming publications, including an article on the figurative portrayals of Lib Dem party leader Nick Clegg during the 2010 election in the British Journal of Politics and International Relations.
