Mariagrazia Costantino

Mariagrazia Costantino is a Sinologist, independent curator and media scholar. She has worked in Rome, Beijing and Shanghai, playing an active role in the exchange between the Chinese contemporary art scene and the Italian network of galleries and museums. Since 2000 she has been examining contemporary culture and visual practices in Greater China, with a focus on dissidence and urbanism. In 2002, thanks to a scholarship, she was accepted as the first foreign student at the New Media Center of the China Academy of Arts in Hangzhou. Back in Italy after a stay in China, she has been enjoying teaching and being involved in interdisciplinary curatorial projects.
