Nadia Malik
Nadia Malik has a twenty-year costume-led design practice encompassing theatre, opera, dance, digital, site-specific and experimental devised work, musicals and live art. She has presented work at international performance festivals and conferences (Greenwich + Docklands International Festival, 2011, World Stage Design, Taipei, 2017), in group exhibitions (Make: Believe, Society of British Theatre Designers, 2015), co-produced costume events (Revolutions in Costume at the V&A, 2012) and convened the two-day conference and exhibition Costume and Fashion in Context and Practice, 2016. Nadia is the programme director for the Performance courses at London College of Fashion, University of the Arts London, and was previously course leader for the costume courses at Nottingham Trent University and the University of Huddersfield. Nadia is the reviews editor (exhibitions and events) for the journal Studies in Costume and Performance. Her doctoral studies at Aalto University, Helsinki, investigate the structures and mechanisms of Knowledge Exchange between academia and the performing arts industry, with a focus on experimental pedagogical practice.
