Valentina Marinescu

Valentina Marinescu is a Professor Habilitated at the Department of Sociology, Faculty of Sociology and Social Work, University of Bucharest, Romania. She teaches methods of research in communication sciences, introduction in communication and sociology of mass media both at the BA and MA level. Her main research interests are: communication and media studies in Eastern Europe. She was a Visiting Senior Fellow, Academy of Korean Studies, Seoul, South Korea (July-October 2011) and Grant Director, Academy of Korean Studies, Grant – AKS-2013-R71. Searching the Sameness and Otherness through Hallyu in the Balkans and Central Europe. Academy of Korean Studies (2013 – 2014). She edited the „Global impact of South Korean Culture – Hallyu unbound” (Rowman and Littlefield Publishing House) published in September 2014. Among her latest works are: „The impact of Hally in Eastern and Central Europe – An exploratory analysis”. In Contemporary society, between artefactual communication and style. (Ed. V. Marinescu and D.Podaru, Tritonic, 2017); „The readers of East-Asia literature in Romania: Some field-notes”. In Travels and travellers. A palimsest of the map of representation. (Ed. A.
