Adriana Disman

Adriana Disman is a performance artist and writer based in Berlin. Since 2010, their solo performance art has been presented in numerous festivals and galleries across Canada, the United States, Europe and India. Their writing can be found in both academic and arts publications including Performance Research, C Magazine, Canadian Theatre Review, Theatre Research in Canad, and More Caught in the Act (ed. Johanna Householder and Tanya Mars). They are co-editor of the book 50 Key Performance Artists (Routledge). Disman holds a Ph.D. from Queen Mary University of London, supervised by Dominic Johnson and Martin O'Brien, on the critical pathologization of self-wounding in performance art. Their first novel is forthcoming.
