Aisha Pagnes

Aisha Pagnes, originally from Venice, trained at the Koninklijke Academie van Beeldende Kunst in ArtScience and now resides in Den Haag as a core member of ANNASTATE. Her work emphasizes bare-boned symbolism and materiality, developed through painting, photography, performance, installations and sound. She has exhibited in Indonesia, Italy and the Netherlands. Holding a master’s degree in philosophy, she specializes in German Idealist aesthetics, Levinasian ethics, and environmental aesthetics. Writing is central to her practice, exploring the metaphysics of beauty and art’s role in meaning-making. Aisha teaches applied ethics at Eindhoven University of Technology and academic writing at Utrecht University.
