emilyn claid

emilyn is a dance theatre/live art performer, choreographer, teacher, director and writer. In 1997 they were awarded a Ph.D. and worked as a Professor of Choreography at Dartington College of Arts (2003–11) and University of Roehampton (2011–20).  emilyn wrote two books while working in academia: Yes? No! Maybe (Routledge 2006) and FALLING through Dance and Life (Bloomsbury 2019). They also trained as a Gestalt psychotherapist, qualifying with an MSc (2011). emilyn left academia in 2020 to focus on practice-led research, currently combining their psychotherapy practice with creating new live art choreographic performance.
