Renato Ferracini
Actor, researcher, father, aon (but no more grandson, unfortunately!). Wears earrings. Rhizomatic. Critical. Positive. Vital. Free and bald. He always carries a bit of yellow, sun and night in his pockets to hand out for free. Having already said the most important thing, he holds a Ph.D. (2004) in multimedia from UNICAMP. He is an actor-researcher at LUME – the Interdisciplinary Centre for Theatre Research at UNICAMP, where he has been working theoretically/practically on all the centre's lines of research since 1993. He was president of ABRACE – Brazilian Association for Research and Postgraduate Studies in Performing Arts in the 2019/2020/2021 term. He is a professor in the Postgraduate Programme in Performing Arts – IA – UNICAMP and has published six books, the most recent being Entre cenas, memórias e estilhaços (Ed. da UNICAMP, 2022). He is the organizer of three other books published by ABRACE and HUCITEC in partnership with other researchers in the field. He was awarded the UNICAMP Academic Recognition Prize in 2021, as well as two other Shell Prizes (2013 and 2018) for work carried out at LUME. He has published numerous articles in the main performing arts journals, as well as several book chapters in important works in the field. He has presented shows and given workshops, lectures, debates, masterclasses, technical demonstrations and field research on his research and the work developed at LUME in many cities in Brazil and in 22 other countries.
