Roberta Tabanelli

Roberta Tabanelli is associate professor of Italian and film studies at the University of Missouri-Columbia. Her research interests are in Italian contemporary cinema and literature, film studies, cultural studies, transnational cinema and post-human theories. She has published a book on contemporary Neapolitan cinema, I ‘pori’ di Napoli: Il cinema di Mario Martone, Antonio Capuano e Pappi Corsicato (‘The “pores” of Naples. The cinema of Mario Martone, Antonio Capuano and Pappi Corsicato’) (Longo Editore, 2011). Her articles on a number of Italian contemporary writers and filmmakers have been published in New Cinemas, Studies in European Cinema, Italian Culture, Italica, Annali d’Italianistica, Journal of Italian Cinema & Media Studies and in various volumes and collections. She is currently working on a book-length project on Italian transnational cinema.
