Roberto Suárez Candel

Roberto Suárez Candel holds a Ph.D. in Social Communication (2009) from the Pompeu Fabra University (Barcelona – Spain). In his doctoral dissertation, he analysed the public policies addressing the implementation of Digital Terrestrial Television within the European Union and compared the cases of Sweden and Spain. In 2010, Roberto Suárez's dissertation was awarded with the '1st Audiovisual Communication Research Prize' by the Catalan Audiovisual Council. Previously, in 2006, his Ph.D. project was also awarded with the 'International Prize for Ph.D. Projects' from the Fundación Autor-SGAE. His latest project is leading research into Redefining and Repositioning Public Service Broadcasting in the Digital and Multiplatform Scenario at the Hans Bredow Institute for Media Research.
