Petros Iosifidis
Petros Iosifidis is professor in media policy and associate dean EDI at City, University of London, United Kingdom (https://www.city.ac.uk/people/academics/petros-iosifidis). He has acknowledged expertise in the realms of communications policy, public service media and regulation of social media. He is author of nine books including Digital Democracy, Social Media and Disinformation (Routledge, 2021 with N. Nicoli), Public Sphere and Mediated Social Networks (Palgrave Macmillan, 2016 with M. Wheeler), Global Media & National Policies (Palgrave Macmillan, 2016 with T. Flew and J. Steemers), Global Media and Communication Policy (Palgrave Macmillan, 2013), Public Television in the Digital Era (Palgrave Macmillan, 2012) and Reinventing Public Service Communication (Palgrave Macmillan, 2010). He has contributed numerous book chapters and has published extensively in peer-review journals. He has served as an ESRC and AHRC Peer Review College reviewer, as principal editor of the Journal of Digital Media & Policy and founder/co-editor of the Palgrave Global Media Policy and Business book series. He has been vice-chair of the IAMCR Global Media Policy group and has given evidence to UK parliamentary committees, provided policy advice to the Greek government and acted as national expert on European projects.
