Martin Woolley

Martin Woolley is emeritus professor in design research, Coventry University, UK. With a background in three-dimensional, interior and industrial design, his research interests have developed to encompass technology transfer, new product development, the crafts, the creative environment and user-centred design. He has supervised and examined numerous research degrees, been active on several national research bodies and is a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. Over the last two decades he has combined funded research projects with the challenge of directing research within several top UK universities. Martin has also undertaken advisory work for worldwide academic institutions. He is a fellow of the Design Research Society, has chaired two national subject associations and in 1977 was one of the first people in the United Kingdom to undertake a Ph.D. in industrial design. He has also served on national research panels and led several major EU- and UK-funded research projects.
