Yannis Tzioumakis

Yannis Tzioumakis is reader in film and media industries at the University of Liverpool (United Kingdom). He is the author of five books, most recently Acting Indie: Industry, Aesthetics, Performance (co-authored with Cynthia Baron; Palgrave, 2020), and co-editor of six collections of essays, most recently United Artists (Routledge, 2020). He is currently co-editing the collection Indie TV: Industry, Aesthetics and Medium Specificity for Routledge, while authoring a book on Hollywood films in Greece in the 1950s and 1960s. He has also published articles in several journals, including Screen; Film History; Velvet Light Trap; New Review of Film and Television Studies; International Journal of Media and Cultural Politics; and Studies in Documentary Film. Yannis also co-edits two book series: the ‘Routledge Hollywood Centenary’ and ‘Cinema and Youth Cultures’ (both for Routledge).
