Brent Luvaas is Associate Professor of Global Studies and Graduate Faculty Member in Communication, Culture, & Media at Drexel University. A visual and cultural anthropologist, his work explores how digital technology is reshaping creative production in the fields of fashion and photography. He is the author of Street Style: An Ethnography of Fashion Blogging (Bloomsbury, 2016) and DIY Style: Fashion, Music, and Global Digital Cultures (Berg, 2012) and co-editor (with Joanne Eicher) of the forthcoming The Anthropology of Dress and Fashion: A Reader (Bloomsbury, 2018). His articles and photo essays have appeared in Fashion Theory, Fashion Studies, Fashion Practice, Clothing Cultures, Cultural Anthropology, Visual Anthropology Review, Anthropology & Humanism, Fashion, Style and Popular Culture, and The International Journal of Cultural Studies, among other journals.
