Ben Barry

Ben Barry is queer, disabled fashion educator, designer and researcher. As dean of fashion at Parsons School of Design, he is devoted to intervening into the fashion system to shift power and design a future where world-views and bodies that are currently stigmatized are instead valued and desired. Ben’s research explores shifting relationships between masculinity and fashion in contemporary North American society with a focus on the experiences of wearers in everyday life and the entanglements of masculinity with queer, fat and disabled embodiments. He holds a Ph.D. from Cambridge University.
